Young Farmers Summer Conference

The State Young Farmers committee is excited to offer the first ever Young Farmers Summer Conference to be held at the Federation Home Office, 2108 East South Boulevard, Montgomery, AL. This is a great opportunity for our county Young Farmer members to get to see the home office first hand and participate in workshops and seminars to give them the tools they need to succeed in 21st century agriculture.
We hope you will register! We are expecting a great turnout, and we have a great meeting planned for you. Our keynote presenters are Troy and Stacey Hadrick of South Dakota. They are former AFBF Young Farmers that do workshops on the importance of telling agriculture’s story. Their website, www.advocatesforag.com, has become a mainstay for those in the ag industry to keep abreast of what is going on in the world of animal activism from the farmers standpoint.
We will also be holding the 2010 Young Farmers Discussion Meet and Excellence in Agriculture Contest that will be held at this meeting. Enclosed you will find information on both. Winners from this meeting will go on to the finals to be held at the Annual Meeting in December.
All information you need to register and participate in these contests is available online here. Contact your county chairman to register. (The number of attendees is up to the county president/young farmers’ chairman, so be sure to check with them before registering.)
Please note a few important details: 1. Competitors in the Discussion Meet and Excellence in Ag contests will need to be registered for the Summer Conference to participate.
